XII ORDINARY PROVINCIAL CHAPTER OF NORTHERN PROVINCE OCTOBER 9th – 14th , 2013

We began the Inaugural Session at 3.45 pm on October 9, 2013, with an inspiring Opening Prayer and at the end of it Sister Lily D’Souza, our Provincial Superior welcomed the  delegates and confirmed their attendance.  In  her Inaugural address she noted that  a Chapter is a time of grace, a time of evaluation  and a time of  renewal and  commitment.   She invited us to be “signs of faith and hope  for the world by our God-centered life and action”.  After invoking the intercession of our beloved foundress Mother Veronica,  The Provincial Superior  declared the  12^th Ordinary Provincial Chapter  open.

Seminar on Faith and New Evangelization

During the week long session cum workshop the young sisters profited much and were grateful to God and to the Provincial Team for giving them such a wonderful time.

An expert was called in to give the sisters an input session on 'First Aid' and 'Care of the Sick'.

Sister Marie Eugene gave them some tips on Public Speaking and arranged for an 'Extempore Speech Contest' on various current topics.

Sister Mena D'Silva took immense trouble to teach 'Good Manners', 'Social Etiquette' and Flower Arrangement to the young sisters

'A stitch in time saves nine' They learnt the basics in stitching, darning, sewing.

The Junior Sisters learnt the culinary art from Sisters Lily D'Souza and Arathi. Later on they tried their hands at preparing some delicious dishes for the community.

The Young Sisters and Junior Sisters were enriched and inspired by the seminar cum workshop on 'Faith and New Evangelization' by Rev. Fr. Rex, S.J. for 22nd to 24th June 2013.

FEAST DAY CELEBRATIONS OF OUR PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR

30th May: Sister Lily D'Souza our Provincial Superior's feast day and birthday, celebrated with joy and enthusiasm. The day began with an inspiring morning prayer and well prepared liturgy made meaningful by the melodious singing. Soon after the breakfast, the campus communities came in full strength to greet the provincial superior with bouquets and  garlands, song, verse and gifts. The Special Evening prayer was conducted by Sister Zeena Crasta, thanking God for the unique and precious gift of  Sister Lily D'Souza to us. The grand finale was the recreation, by the  candidates, postulants, working girls and sisters which brought joy, laughter and togetherness to the community.
